CAN ANYBODY TELL ME HOW THEY INSTALLED VirtualDub IN THEIR COMPUTERS.
I know this is silly but damn, this is really wierd

This is what I generally do. I assume you are not hiding extensions.

    1. Open the folder C:\Program Files

    2. Make a new folder C:\Program Files\VirtualDub

    3. Place the downloaded Zip file there.

    4. Unzip the downloaded Zip file into that folder

    5. Right click on start button

    6. Choose Explore

    7. Find either (depending on your setup and your preference)

    one of these folders...

    All users\Start Menu\Programs

    - or -

    [Your user name]\Start Menu\Programs

    8. Open that folder.

    9. Right click and choose "New..."

    10. Choose "Shortcut"

    11. In the dialog box that comes up, make it point to the VirtualDub executable file in the folder you created which should be...

    C:\Program Files\VirtualDub\VirtualDub.exe

    12. Click OK

    13. Now you can start VirtualDub from your Start Menu.

(Or you can just right click VirtualDub.exe, drag to the desktop, and choose "Create shortcut here" if that's how you like to start things. Me, I hate a cluttered desktop.)

OK, let me try it and will let you know if it worked. I assumed that u dl this program here in afterdawn?

Man, this sucks. I tried opening my avi video and it says that it couldn't locate the decompressor of XVID. I tried other avi videos of mine and it worked. Only this particular video is not working.

There is no install to fail and if you got to the stage where it failed to open a file, then it is running fine.
