I was running Vdub mp3 freeze to check if I had any bad frames in one of my avi file and Vdub just crashes at about two thirds of the process. I've been having a lot of problem with this avi file and that was why I wanted to check if it had bad frames but the thing that's suppose to check crashes too.

Then I suppose the answer is 'yes'. Just convert AVI --> MP3 with TMPgenc and see how much of movie he can convert (keep your fingers crossed).

so which frame is bad ? the video or the audio.
if its one of them. how about encoding seperately.
    by demuxing.
disable the audio in virtualdub. and direct stream copy.
if both are the problems, you're screwed. but try to skip the bad frame and salvage thats salvageable ;)
