   I want to get the songs on my Sylvania mp3 player to play at an equal volume.
   Is there a way to do this with Nero 8 or do I need another program?

   Nero has very marginal software. Try this, it is not marginal...
   mp3gain
   You should really normalize your library so you only have to do it once.
