    @KrieppeN: Looks good, any problems?

    @ayambad:

    Uninstall via add/remove programs(if present, located in control panel):

    Best Offers
    Rxtoolbar
    P2P Networking
    Kazaa

    Reboot

    Download SmitfraudFix.zip to your desktop -> http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip

    Unzip it (folder named SmitFraudFix) to your desktop:

    Open the folder SmitfraudFix and doubleclick smitfraudfix.cmd
    Choose option #1 - Search by typing 1 and pressing "Enter"; a textfile opens and lists the infected files (if those exist)

    Post the contents of this textfile to here.

    (Some antiviruses recognises process.exe as a malware. It is not malware, it is a program that stops processes)

    Send contents of that file and a fresh HjT log.

    Note to everyone! I will be away from Mon to Fri and won't be able to answer here So, don't even expect me to answer during that period :)

    Hi ayambad. My buddy -kemisti- won't be able to help you for a wile so I'll be covering this thread.

    So lets clean the rest of the infections....

    Cleaning instructions:

    Move HijackThis into its own folder C:\HJT

    Download and install Ewido anti-malware -> http://www.ewido.net/en/download
    Update it, but do NOT run a scan yet. We'll use it later.

    Download ATF Cleaner by Atribune to your desktop -> http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=1
    Do NOT run yet.

    Run HijackThis. Press Do a system scan only, then close all other windows, checkmark the following entries and press Fix checked

    O2 - BHO: RXResultTracker Class - {59879FA4-4790-461c-A1CC-4EC4DE4CA483} - blank (file missing)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SemanticInsight] C:\Program Files\RXToolBar\Semantic Insight\SemanticInsight.exe
    O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://kq.bar.need2find.com/KQ/menusearch.html?p=KQ
    O18 - Filter: text/html - {2AB289AE-4B90-4281-B2AE-1F4BB034B647} - blank
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: NavLogon - C:\WINDOWS\System32\NavLogon.dll

    Do you know anything about this?
    O4 - Startup: CCTROUTE.BAT

    Make your hidden files visible -> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html
    Restart your computer to the safemode -> http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml

    Delete these folders (if found):
    C:\Program Files\RXToolBar
    C:\Program Files\Best Offers
    C:\Program Files\P2P Networking
    C:\Program Files\Kazaa

    Run ATF Cleaner -> Check select all -> Press Empty selected

    When in safemode, open SmitfraudFix folder and doubleclick the file smitfraudfix.cmd
    Choose option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and pressing "Enter" in order to remove the infected files.

    You are asked: "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove your desktop wallpaper and the infected registry keys.

    The tool checks if wininet.dll file is infected. You might be asked to replace the infected .dll (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

    The tool might have to restart your computer; if it won't do it, restart your computer back to normal mode.
    A textfile will appear after the cleaning process, copy this file and paste it to here.

    Tha log is saved to your local diskdrive, usually C:\rapport.txt.

    Warning : Running option 2 in a clean computer will delete your desktop wallpaper.

    Scan and clean your computer with Ewido and save the report.

    Clean the Recycle bin.

    Post the following logs to here:
    -> a fresh HijackThis log
    -> Ewido's log
    -> contents of C:\Rapport.txt

    Hello, I'm having a similar problem. I had the w32.myzor.fk@yf virus, i followed the instructions that you have given to the previous people, and i got rid of it. I'm still experiencing problems. my system is lagging unlike before after the virus was installed, even though i got rid of it doing what you said. I also cannot do a system restore. When i'm finished rebooting, it says "Restoration Incomplete" I've tried this for every restore point I have, and I still have the same problem.

    I've noticed some strange processes running in the background. some are
    abf24357.exe and f3b5d09e.exe

    what's going on? I would really appreciate the help. Thank's so much. I honestly do appreciate it if you could help me.

    Thanks

    Hello

    I know this is super late but I'm also struggling with w32.myzor.fk@yf. I sort of tried all of the stuff that kemisti told the other guys to do, but my .exe's were still broken after that. I could surf the web and stuff but all my .exe's were unrecognisable. So I finally did a system restore, yes I know, maybe not the best course of action but anyway. I want to know how I can prevent getting this virus again. Is there any way I can protect myself?

    Here is a hjt logfile of doing a scan AFTER the system restore. Please help!:

    pr0t0c0l, are you asking for help 'cause you are having problems or just asking how you can protect yourself? There's nothing bad in your log so, are you having problems?

    Read rav009's Free Windows Security Guide for info on how to protect yourself better.

    Stay away from those suspicious codecs. ;)

    @Niobis

    Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I'm just asking for help on how to protect myself because I've heard dodgy things about system restore and I have a hunch that this virus will just pop up again. Thanks for the guide, I will take a look ;). Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.
