    Yes, it didn't work.

Have you tried smithfraudfix in safe mode?

Boot comp to safe mode and delete those:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\IntCodec\ >>>isaddon.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\SysWow64\ >>>viruxz.dll

    Scan hijack and check:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5753791b-f607-48ca-814e-91c14d081f9e} - C:\Program Files (x86)\IntCodec\isaddon.dll
    O21 - SSODL: bestreak - {874443fe-aa33-4ebf-a6ac-73208787e62d} - C:\WINDOWS\SysWow64\viruxz.dll (file missing)

Close all programs and click fix checked.

Kaspersky have made 64 -bit antivirus and probaply firewall too. But they are not free versions.

Hi, sorry about the delay. I have my kids once a week and they run riot on the computer over fri night and sat !! I figured that if it was to come back, it would have done it with them !!!
Just to let you know, i found the cause (i think) of the re-occurance of purity scan on my comp.
It seemed to keep resurfacing every time i ran reg healer, i can only assume that it was somewhere in the reg healer logs/backups. As soon as i uninstalled reg healer and turned off system restore, then followed your instructions i was clear.
I have since re-installed reg healer and turned on system restore and have had absolutely no probs at all. *crosses fingers*
May i again take this chance to thank you for all your invaluable help, i couldn't have done it without you.

Yes, I did do the fraud fix in safe mode. I went and did it again, along with deleting the files. Only thing, is that I went to delete

    C:\WINDOWS\SysWow64\ >>>viruxz.dll

and it wasn't there. I was able to delete the other file. I then ran smithfraud again. The home page part is gone, and the "system warning" is as well. But I am still getting that annoying pop up. My internet speed seems to have returned to its prior speed as well. Here is the new HJ file.

I am about to head out to work, but I decided to run another HJ, and see if something has shown up that wasn't on the other one that I sent you since the system alert and the pop ups weren't present then.

I only did a quick look at it, but am no where near qualified to know for sure what to do with it.

    HYG, thanks.

I deleted that file, and removed the program, then rebooted. It didn't take out the system alert, but it did get rid of the pop ups. So I booted to safe mode and ran the smithfraud again. Once I rebooted regular again, it was all gone. I have let the comp sit idle for about 20 mins just to make sure. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tapiiri, I can't thank you enough. I truelly appreciate your help.

Here is the updated HJ file too.

Hello, I have this darn spyware like everyone else and am not computer savvy, but have read the fixes you have recommended and think I can do it if you have the time. Thanks! Dan

    Hi Uecker

    download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Just so you know the symptoms, I had installed ewido and ran it and now it keeps detecting and quarantining something called Zlob.yt malware. I have popups that are not very tasteful pop up. Additionally, I have a caution triangle that flashes on my toolbar saying system alert: spyware detected trying to get me to download some software. Don't know if that helps. Later, Uecker

Restart your computer to the safemode -> http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml

When in safemode, open SmitfraudFix folder and doubleclick the file smitfraudfix.cmd
Choose option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and pressing "Enter" in order to remove the infected files.

You are asked: "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove your desktop wallpaper and the infected registry keys.

The tool checks if wininet.dll file is infected. You might be asked to replace the infected .dll (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool might have to restart your computer; if it won't do it, restart your computer back to normal mode.
A textfile will appear after the cleaning process, copy this file and paste it to here.
Tha log is saved to your local diskdrive, usually C:\rapport.txt.

Warning : Running option 2 in a clean computer will delete your desktop wallpaper.

    Tapiiri,
I ran the Smitfraud in the safemode with Option #2 like you said to. It never asked me to replace the wininet.dll file. It did start running a window automatically to compress files and clean them. I had to click on the blue box to select yes to do the registry cleaning since that window popped up without my asking. It seemed like this cleaning process froze when I went back to it after copying the rapport file. Not sure if that is important. Here is the rapport file. Also, just prior to executing this last Smitfraud, my computer was starting to run continuously at 100% CPU with only one microsoft program running which is unusual. Thanks again!
