Sounds like you may have to hotswap. Read the tutorial on the first page to read how to do it.

Opening the Xbox is pretty simply, it is just like a PC inside. Here - http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/crack_open_that_xbox.htm

That will show how easy it is.

Also the wallpaper is from - Metal Gear Solid 3 PM me if you want it.

How about my issue? I installed the soft mod with auto installer 3.1 I must have messed up because with no disk it locks at the Microsoft screen (no error given) I can boot mech assult but if I try to run the linx istaller again it locks up/ just flashes the screen.

hey well i accidentally deleted my ms and my evox dashboard. so wen i turn it on it say error 21. also it still plays games. i dont think i cud ftp into it seen as i dont have evox anymore. i deleted my linux saves so i cant redo my softmod. i did backup my eeprom its on my memory card. and actually the mech assault is on it too. i have action replay so putting it on my computer is not a problem. anyone have any suggestions.

Think you might need to hotswap too.

Look at the top to re-building a new HDD, or follow the link to the hotswap tutorial.

nope i fixed it with slayers 2.7. i just did a full restore to factory and it worked perfect

 

Hmm you should have mentioned that you could boot up discs in the post prior to the one you just made. But whatever, glad you got it sorted

if I made the disk would the xbox start from that disk and I could use that menu?

 

lol i love my life so much. im 13. life is good. lol mikeh, i had a problem with this a while ago as i posted on the previous page lol. the tutorial helped me so much. haha now, a few months later, i have [had] a different problem but i just got rid of that one, too. idk where u got the download for the m$ dash, but its amazing. ur amazing thank you sooo much

lol i wish i would have found this topic a long time ago i could have saved $80 and some time but that was long ago i have a 360 now and i did eventually mod my Xbox Orignal again and didnt mess up!!!!

so that would be the 'Original Xbox Dashboard 4920'? firstly i'd need to register and secondly that is not the latest dash. what about extracting the one off Auto Installer Deluxe 3.10, is that the latest dash?

 

no not the latest dash but its an original u can use then get a game with a dashboard update like 13 then ur dash will be update then softmod ya box from there just a suggestion
