wont work Cant run games anymore seems like someonedisconected my xbox from power and now it wont run games justs goes diurectly to error 21
seems the only way to fix will be hotswap
can I restore to retail state if I dont have a compy of my eeprom, the copy of the eeprom is in the HD itself
I thought Id backed it up in my PC but the eeprom files I backed up shows just 1byte size so I dont think it backesd up correctly.

Alright I did the tutorial you gave me with the Ms dash download and now i can still play games, but if i turn it on any other way i get error 21. Did i do it wrong you think or what?
I just really want my xbox back to normal.

Ok, if you can boot original games, just boot up the original of the game you use to trigger the softmod exploit. (assuming you still have the gamesaves on the Xbox)

ok yeah I have Splinter cell and now i have the linux stuff.

 

Oh and something else. In the C folder I have some extra files like SID, skins, and trainers.

 

Ok, open a temporary FTP with the softmod exploit and FTP the MS dash into the C folder, overwriting everything else that was in it.

ok im seriously paniking here! i tried to softmod my brothers xbox with sid 4 and splinter cell ntsc. i installed the mod and backed up eproom.bin and ms dash or w/e then it said to take out disc and reboot. I did so. THEN!!! the normal green ms blob was there no sign of modding AND NO [removed] DASHBOARD!!! WORST OF ALL THE FRICKIN GAMESAVE WONT LOAD UP AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! ANY HELP WOULD BE DEEPLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

 

First step here is to calm down

Ok, it sounds like a failed softmod for whatever reason. When installing the mod did you choose "Dual Boot ndure - eject=retail" or did you choose another option?

What error are you getting on the screen at startup? And how did you get the gamesaves on the Xbox in the first place? Couldn't you just put them on the same way. Do any games boot up at all? And did you make sure that you used the correct gamesave for your region of console?

maybe that was the problem, i used ntsc splinter cell, ntsc gamesave linux. but mabes the console wasnt ntsc. well anyways, theres no dashboard it does boot up games, with out a game it just has a black screen with nothing and an orange eject led. so ya anyhelp wud be greatly appreciated. i wonder if i started softmodding if 007 would be more stable after ive updated the dash with halo 2?

 

Yes, use Halo 2 to update the dash, then uninstall the Softmod from softmod menu, SID that you use splinter cell to exploit and MAKE sure you know what region it is. If it was bought in the US - region 1 - USA.
If the Xbox was bought in the UK - Region 2 - EU.

ok well i got the guy who modded my old xbox to fix it, so this halo 2 update would help eh?!! ITHOt i had to hot swap hdd and stuff
