I tried the 2 utils I have, Mac the Ripper and DVD Backup, to back up my War of the Worlds (2005, widescreen--just released), and DVD Player gets the same error when trying to play back either backup: "DVD Player encountered a system error. Could not detect a valid media file. [-70001]" Also, DVD2One gives no error, but acts like the VIDEO TS folder is empty, though the VOB files are clearly visible in the Finder. Any ideas?
what version of MTR? and did you do main feature or full disc? sometimes that is the issue.. main feature dont work.
@tone28: thank you for the input but dvd shrink is on pc.. and even then.. i think on that movie you need dvdfab decrypter... in the pc end of it anyways.. thank you for the input tho.. i'm sorry if i'm coming off mean or anything.. not really trying to do that.
Yeah, my MTR is 2.6.6. Versiontracker says that's the latest, and I was doing a full-disc rip. Think the ripper needs an update?
probably... the only way to get the new version... at least the beta versions.. you would need to check this site out.. official forum fro them.. http://www.ripdifferent.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=1566
....just ripped war of the worlds (widescreen) with mtr 3.0 r-12.....extracted "movie only" with dvd2onex and compressed....it is now writing with toast...absolutely no problem! I may make another copy on 2 discs by splitting up the chapters with dvd2onex....that way there will be no compression and subsequent loss of quality.
