    hello...
i'm pretty sure i'm fighting a losing battle trying to watch uploaded tv episodes (.avi files) on my oldish imac. (i'm running OSX 10.2.8)

    here's what i've tried:

    upgraded to quicktime pro
downloaded vlc player but with no luck.

video is still choppy. but the crazy thing is, last night after trying everything....then doing nothing....it worked. i tried it again this morning, and it was choppy again. i restarted....still nothing. i downloaded more episodes of six feet under...tried them...but still no luck.

am i wasting my time here with this old mac????

    thanks for your help.

first off.. your mac aint that old. i work at macmall.. i got ppl calling me with performas..

quicktime sounds like the way to go.. but here's some requirements i picked up on the apple site.

QuickTime 7 System Requirements for Mac OS X
400 MHz Power PC G3 or faster Macintosh computer
    At least 128MB of RAM
Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later

you should have everything there.. except for your OS. and if you want a new computer and not spend a lot of money.. get yourself a mac mini. i do and i love it.

i also know of this wonderful site that has all the apple systems and all the specs on them.
