Way to tell if someone has hacked my computer?

    Logged on earlier and I had a box come up "Synaptic has disengaged your keyoard due to another pointer".....this is not the word for word description but very similar

    Any words of advice as I am not sure if it was a glitch or if someone has hacked my system
