ok, first of few weeks ago i bought a WD 1.5TB and a dual HD docking station. the 1.5 TB was installed and formatted from the beginning (took about 2 days) and was ntfs. didnt use it for about a week but still had it plugged in. then needed to do some organizing of files on all my HD transferring a great amount of data over to the new one (TB), everything worked fine for a few days or so, could access it and run files off it no problem, ( did notice that before storing anything on the TB at times it wouldnt recognize and "install" right off the bat) like my other external drives.
then all of a sudden one day while computer was on, it would reconize it , but when i tryed to access it it would now require format to read it. why !!!
when i open up my Acronis Disk Suit my drive reads

    ' disk 6
    ------------
    None - (E) pri,act. 468.8 Gig FS: none partition: 0x7 (ntfs/hpsf)
    Unallocated 931.5 Gig Unallocated

so...... now im stumped , i had never seen this before, and i need to atleast recover my files.
is there any programs i can use to help me do this ??
i have tryed some but obviously the drive is recognized as 'RAW'
i dont wanna loose all newly transferred data for i have deleted thee original files from there location.

please any help please please please

    THANXX

try connecting the drive directly to the motherboard & do a chkdsk to find & possibly correct any errors. did that on a laptop drive as c:drive parrition was corrupted so connected it to customer's tower which found the drive & corruption that it fixed. saved me from doing a reload of windows.

just a quick update , RIGHT NOW , the to ex hd i had connected in my dual docking station just ( almost ) did the the same thing , all of a sudden the drives disconnected , and then tried to reconnect and a pop up told me that they needed formatting to read, did it a couple times , while i was just sitting here , so i jumped up and hit the power button on the docking station and ejected the drives , reconnected one of them in one of my external enclosures and it reads it , also noticed that the hd's where extremely hot , could my problem spawn from a over heating corruption malfunction with the NexStar dual docking station ??
any thought s or further help ?
