Can anyone tell me why is my WD external hard drive stop responding after certain hours. IT wasn't doing it before but after a year I bought this hard drive its giving me this problem. I had to unplug the power of the hard drive to be able to turn it off. Buy pushing the power button doesn't do anything. When I turn the power back on, the lite is on but it doesn't do anything. But after maybe few minutes it start responding or sometimes it doesn't respond at all.
So can anyone help me please how to resolve this problem... The bad thing is, I don't have the receipt anymore and I didn't buy any extended warranty.

Go to the WD website and submit an online RMA, all they need is the model number printed on the back of the unit. Then post it off to them for replacement.
