I forgot to mention, when I put VirtualDub into capture mode, it too shows a black screen, but it then freezes (the program, not the whole computer). I am using VirtualDub 1.6.11 build 23774. The other programs I have tried to use for video capture viewing are Media Player Classic 6.4.8.4: http://gabest.org/
and ExperTV, which rebootjim mentioned. Neither of those freeze, they just show black. Only VirtualDub freezes, yet that could be another issue entirely.

    hi cemysce

basically yes, im using the wdm123 with win2k_xp_4230 found both drivers by writing the whole name in google (didnt find it from gainward). This is the only way i have managed to make the capture to work (thanks to Rob__Dean).

I recommend that you remove the forceware and the 2.26, reboot the computer, load the 4230, reboot, install the wdm 123, reboot and then try the virtualdub.. you may also try windvr to test the capture...

    good luck

I just went through a clean install procedure to revert to the old driver. It now works with ExperTV, but not with Media Player Classic or VirtualDub (which is still freezing whenever it's put in Capture mode).
