I have followed the instructions to a T, but I cant get the damn thing to play on my Classic EDR700S DVD home theater that i bought from circuit city. I burned the mpeg files to disk using adaptec easy cd creator 4 (which it had no problem with). Is it just my dvd player or what? the resulting cd will play in my dvd drive using my dvd software, although the quality is not the best it is a viewable copy. any suggestions?

there are some vcd/svcd images (nero?) on www.vcdhelp.com. Perhaps you can try burning these and see if your dvd player accepts them.

Are you using the VCD layout format with a correct (VCD compatible)MPEG format to burn your CD using Adaptec??? A simple MPEG file will run on a computer, but not a stand alone DVD player. Or maybe your DVD home theatre doesn't support the CD-R format???
