Same as any other heatpipe cooler, heated vapour through the heatpipes carries the heat better from the copper base to the large metal fins, where it dissipates. My housemate uses watercooling, and he's had so many problems with it, I decided not to go with it. Besides, I use one of the hottest running CPUs out there, and have THE hottest running GPU out there, and they don't overheat, so I see little reason to go for watercooling other than for big time overclocks, which I'm not looking for at the moment anyway.

Yes fluids. Fluidcooling. That's whats in water cooling. So I'm going to call water cooling fuildcooling. See, it's the same thing.
guys think its worth swithing out my Zalman cooler for a Thermalright Ultra-120 ? my temps seen fine at 34C CPU and system temps running at 32C
36c to 38c CPU, system runs at 32c to 34c this case has eight fans in it!! lol plus the Zalman on the CPU
Lol well, if youre at 38C under full load then the Zalman is fine IMO, I dont think anyone else would object either lol.
Not a 9700, you will get the same performance at a lower noise level, or a few degrees off your temps probably with a high speed fan, nothing extraordinary.
