what is av input?

    Hi.

    I just got a portable dvd player, and have connected my powered speakers into the AV output, and sounds great! What is the AV input for? I have the included AV cables that have red/yellow/white on one side and one black on the other end. What is this for?

    Hello Kimmi8...av cables means "audio visual" cables. The red and white are for the stereo sound...red is right and white is left. The yellow carries the video signal. If the black looks like the one below, it is an S-video which delivers a somewhat better picture than the yellow.
