    Hi,
I just bought a new Computer and i seem to have the same problem as you Pollution.

    I got a

    CPU: AMD 64 3700 Clawhammer socket 754
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-K8U
Fan: Fanner Tech AMD K8 cooler fan

I am running SpeedFan and everything is ok except Remote 1 witch run at 45C at Idle and climb up to 67C when it loads.

Right now I Got Ambient 1 at 28C
    Remote 1 at 45C
    Remote 2 at 27C
    HD0 at 27C

I got a lot of fan
    1 small at side
1 120 mm at the back
    1 small front
    1 CPU
    2Power supplie fans

The air is not even hot in my PC

First i tougnt it was my video card but i changed it with my old Gforce 64M and the reading were the same.

second i unpluged my cpu fan to see if the reading of Remote 1 was changing and it was slowly raising up to 50 and so on so i think that Remote 1 is my Cpu Temperature Reading.

I removed my Cpu Heatsink to see i put too much paste on it and it was stuck on my cpu.

So should i changed my Cpu Heatsink and fan to something else...?
I see that you changed yours for a Zalman, was it difficult to install cause i think your cpu socket and mine look the same.

    Thank!

The zalman 9500 was pretty easy to install, but you have to be very carefuly not put it on crooked b/c there is no guide to assist you in placing it exactly on the cpu. My CPU temp right now is 49C b/c i found out my case is a piece of shit and does not have good air flow.
My Cpu has not reached 60C for sure, usually below 55C when using both CPU's at 100%.

Remote 1 probably is CPU, was on mine and since we have the same mb i am very sure it is. But everest home is a better program to see temps.
    download there.

    It says CPU for temp.

It's not just about how many fans you have, but how the air flows, i keep runnung smoke from a firework punk through my system to see how the airflows, and it is a piece of crap case i keep modifying. I dont know if running smoke from a punk is such a good idea.

Yes it is my processor, 47C Idle with Everest
Same reading in SpeedFan my processor cooking! it jump extremly fast to 65C and more when i play Civilization 4

I think my CPU fan is a Piece of ....
What would you recommend with that type of Motherboard?
There is a plastic mont around our CPU socket and i think we cant remove it is that right?

65C is way to high. I have never seen mine go above 60C with stock fan and heat sink.
I know i removed the plastic piece around my motherboard but it had plastic retention clips holding it, a real pain in the ass to get out and had to break them after disconneting from motherboard for them to come out of the black plastic cpu mount.
I have socket 939, i know the Zalman i bought, the 9500 model has other black cpu mount's for ther socket type's, and i think yours is one of them. Check at http://www.newegg.com

I really do not know what would be the best heat sink.

    I just dont understand...
I still got high Cpu Temperature 43 idle and 59 loading
I bought Zalman 9500 and fixed it with artic 5 thermal paste...

Is it possible that the processor is defective?

Frank, those temps aren't too bad :^)
They might come down a coupla degrees if you have good airflow through your case and a cool environment.
If you have 1 ea. (small) at side and front, these are blowing in, right? And the big 120mm and PS exhausting at the rear? The fan on the side blows air in where the vidcard is, or the CPU?
The 120mm fan (rear) is the key one anyway. If it's in good shape and not throttled/switched to 'low', it will move lots of air through your case and help your CPU temps.

    @Frank,
Try downloading the latest ultimate edition of everest @
    http://www.lavalys.com/
its a 30 day trial but i shows my cpu temp to be 91F with one of my cores maxed out. For some reason those old temp monitors gave me the wrong temp. Test it out.
