I am relatively new to modding (I had one for the old PS1), but I have a few questions. I am considering buying a new Xbox and I am not sure what version that would be, if I were to buy it today. So if anyone knows, then what would be the best Modchip for that one. Also, I have a NEC ND3500 burner, and I am wondering if this is a good burner to burn backups. Thank you to all who read and respond in advance.

I would go with the Xenium ICE. Comes with some great accessories and is very easy to install.

Spider chip has issues so I would stay clear of that and X3 well adding the bios to that is a mission.

Xenium ICE, no fuss no mess :)

hey tipotop....thanks for the information. I was reading a few other posts and i am guessing that if I were to buy a new Xbox today it would probably be Version 1.6, so would the Xenium ICE work with that. Also, how much do they usually cost. I thank you for you time.

yes the Xenium Ice works with all xbox versions.

they also have a new solderless adaptor that works on all xbox versions

check it out here www.teamxodus.com :)

regarding the price of the chip I suggest you check the official reseller list.

hey sjchu, would it be best if I went with the solderless Xenium ICE. All I want to do is play the games off of backups and then maybe later install a bigger HDD.

I'd get a big hdd right away. If you haven't gone XBL yet, get a new hdd before you sign up so that the new hdd key is registered instead of the original one. Then, you will be able to switch between M$ Dash in C: and Evox in F: totally stealth from M$.
