I have used single layer Sony DVD+/-R 8X, Maxell DVD +/- R 8X and Fuji DVD-R 4X with great success, they all burn faster then their rated speed. The only Dual Layer discs I have used are Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4X, I have they been able to burn them at 4X with Firmware 1.07 installed.
