Does anyone have any idea what the future holds for DVD Recorders? I almost never see them advertised anymore. Considering the problems some users experience being able to record (Error message: Copyrighted material could not complete recording), and the popularity of DVRs, I wonder if DVD Recorders are headed for extinction.

I also have not been able to find a DVD Recorder with a built in hard drive. I know these were available a few years back.

Panasonic and Pioneer recorders usually had hard drives.

Philips, Magnavox, and Polaroid sell recorders with a hard drive, in North America. The Philips 3576 is the most popular, but all three have some kind of problem, usually with the digital tuner.
