Just to all you car nuts.. ive got another thread here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/133541 For modified car owners, enjoy!
Anyone here in the UK who can give me any tips how to keep my insurance premium down? Either post here or check my thread (link above), to check my car spec etc. Any help would be appreciated.
@indienemo You could have a look in the back of maxpower mag for insurers on modded cars.... How old are you though? 25 and over is the age for lower insurance these days... : ) Oh yeah if you just want to keep it down, dont crash and build up your no claims lol!..
well if u live in the states and you dont get a class magazine such as maxpower [best car mag eva] then maybe you get fast car or superstreet. i know when i was visiting the states superstreet was probably the best mag they had which i know has all insurance stuff in it. over here maxpower is the best for tah sort of thing but some people prefer fast car, either way there both great mags and im sure you'll find some insurance stuff. Top Gear is also another goodm mag to look for insurance ads.
hey auslander if you have the money to afford the subaru impreza you have then why dont u try and get more money and cash in ur current impreza and get a subaru impreza wrx sti. the latest one is fast as hell just like your money will be spent on it. its pricey but supposedly worth it. Or you can get a second hand mitsibushi lancer evolution 8 [commonly known as the EVO VIII] there are many different version of it and it will be nice and cheap because of its replacement by the Evo 9. you have the evo MR fq 240, 300,320,330,340 and the MR 400 T. the 240 model has a smaller spoiler and isnt as aggressive but its hella fast still. the number represents how much break horse power [BHP] the car has. the MR 400 T being the fastest and most aggresive beat a ferrari 360 stradale in a drag race in a max power magazine. the ferrari did 0-60 in a recorded time of 4.3 seconds and the Evo did one of 3.9 second.
the thing is, nate, i really don't have the money for the impreza. i have to work about 20 hours a week plus school (which mean little to no sleep with my classes) to just make car payments. I don't get anything better because there'd be no way i could afford insurance (i'm an 18 year old male), gas, or bigger payments. i like the 28 miles to the gallon average of m'Impreza, and the car is plenty fast for me
goddd you and you peoples views about what good economy is. you know 28miles per gallon is almost supercar performance and is about the same as a normal impreza. anything over 45MPG is considered good economy. but im glad that you like your car it looks nice anywho. jus tryin to hand out advice. tata btw for anyone interested in powerful cars the most powerful production car at the moment i think is the koenigsegg ccr which has 680bhp [unless included the callaway sledgehammer which has 800bhp] . the worlds most powerful road legal car was this custom car some guy made that had like 1800bhp. the worlds fastest production ever [not exactly production you had to pay 400,00 dollars because it was too impractical to be a regular production car] is the callaway sledgehamemr witha top end of 254.7 mph [making it faster then the buggati EB veyron claims, also the buggati has been delayed production again until 2006]. the fastest road legal car at the moment is a nissan pulsar gti-r [a.k.a sunny gti-r] that was modified by some guy called something andre and it went 265mph according to police. you shold be able to find it in google eventually just type in worlds fastest car. ONE last thing is i saw someone claim the callaway did 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, this is a lie its merely 3.7 seconds and for the lotus elise guy that thing depending on the model, the latest one does 0-60 4.7 seconds and does about 37MPG
roffle cakes mate. Super cars do >10 MPG. I'm not getting specialist insurance because I dont plan on declaring any mods rite now.. but thanks for the advice. And I'm only 17, so I figure Ill probably go on my mums policy..
cars - harumph my Peugeot 306 Turbo Diesel is probably averaging 45 to the gallon due to crap route i have to use for work (damn sight more to gallon on long runs which i don't do much). insurance is ok i suppose, £30 a month fully comprehensive, protected no claims. but its the fuel - £100 a month now. not complaining really though my previous car averaged around 20ish to the gallon but then it was a BMW 535i Sport driven within an inch of each gear change
I want the new Dodge neon Srt-4 or a new Dodge Stratus, but my dad jus got a 2005 Mazda 3 which i will get when im 16 which is in 1 year cant wait He's puttin a import exhaust on it and a supercharger and cold air intake its sittin on 17's right now which is stock hopefully I can find some nice 18's and put two 12" pionner IMPP's in the back with the latest pioneer head unit and a kick ass MA Audio amp Mono block.
i heard someone say 10mpg is supercar performance and nto my claims of more around 20. ok only few supercars do 10mpg because thats a little extreme even by there standards. i can only name a few cars that do less then 10mpg but alot more that do around 20 [between 17 and 23]. i mean ok the ferrari enzo does 8mpg and the ford gt does 3mpg but thats because there aerodynamics arent as good as they claim and there running on quality fuel. the current worlds fastest production car [koenigsegg ccr] does 18mpg. i mean even the latest dodge viper [dodge srt-10 in the uk] does 21.4mpg [dodge is now supercar it does 0-60 in 3.8seconds]. i may only be 14 but dont mess with me when it comes to cars people.
btw creaky i noticed u said u have a peugeot 306...ok unless u have some old car i havent heard of r u sure its not either a 206 or a 307 that you own??????
OMG. Dodge aint supercars. THEY ARE MUSCLE CARS. Get your facts straight.. and it is a fact that most [bold] supercars [/bold] do between about 8-15MPG. Jesus when do you get off with playing NFSU 2?
