Hi everyone! I’m hoping you can help me make a decision. What kind of computer upgrades would most benefit making backup copies of movies? Most of the movies go fast enough, except the ones needing a lot of compression. I use DVD Shrink 3.2.015 and DVDFab HD Decrypter 4.1.2.0. Should I upgrade the CPU or the RAM? Or would it be best to add a stand alone video card which would also free up the system RAM that is used by the onboard video? System specs: Athlon 64 3000+ EPoX socket 939 motherboard with nVidia 6100 onboard graphics. 512 mb RAM (shared with the onboard graphics). Western Digital 120 gb hard drive. LiteOn SOHO 812s DVD-RW

Those are al sound choices and will certainly see you good performance benefits. If you use the P35-DS3L motherboard though you'll need a separate graphics card. Unless you use lots of PCI slots, the other board will be fine.
Good to hear from you guys It sounds like the cpu would be the best single upgrade. However, since the 939 dual cores are no longer available, I need to go with the new motherboard route. I checked out the options you recommended and they are awesome, but since my budget is very small, I may have to wait a few weeks. Should I go ahead and get a separate graphics card, or would integrated graphics be ok? I do enjoy gaming but am not into the latest high tech games at this time. Working on the movies is my priority right now. Thanks for responding
To play any modern games at all well you need a separate graphics card - just be aware that graphics cards dramatically increase your PC's power consumption so you may want to consider a new power supply, especially if you're using a naff cheap one at present.
