What is the better choice of media to use when doing DVD Backup? I was told that DVD+R is better to use as it will do both data and video well, where DVD-R is more strictly for video/DVD copy? Like to hear what everyone else uses? Thanks
Ive heard that the + is a better product, but I havent read anything to prove that. The only issue is player compatibility. The - format, being older, will play in more players than the +,but not by much anymore.
Hi, DVD+R is a dvd disc that allows multiple layers for one disc where as dvd-r only allows one layer. The DVD-R ("dash” R) and -RW media are officially approved by the group called DVD Forum, and the DVD+R ("plus” R) and +RW are not. There is little functional differences. Almost all DVD players can play DVD-R so that is why a lot of people use DVD-R for movies and things.
So what I am getting from these responses is...I would probably be safer taking my 100 DVD+R spindle back and switching for a DVD-R spindle? I haven't opened it yet, thats why I Wanted to make sure first .
dvd player compatibility chart..http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers If your players will play +r's,I see no reason to return them.
