I went to Best Buy yesterday and come out with Verbatim & Sony 50 spool DVD+R 8x disks! Great buy for the Verbs..19.99 but the Sony was not onsale and was $10 higher.... wanted them anyways. the Verbatim is MCC and made in Taiwan. The Sony is made in Japan and it's ID is YUDEN000T02. Used both of the last night and they are great disks! I highly recommend them! not all disks made in Taiwan are bad! Especially the Mitsubishi Chemical ones! Still 1st rated disks, check this out: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm you should also check out http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/Home.jsp and download a very simple program DVDCopy3. it's straight forward easy! and the quality is top notch! very fast and easy!
Actually when I went to bookmark the site it was already there in my favorites.....guess I need to be more aware of my favs....
The DVD-R 8X FUJIFILM03 made in Taiwan, bought at BB for $8.99/#25 spindall works great for me. Not one coaster in over fifty burns. Decent eval by nomorecoasters.com as well. Let's not be so quick to bad mouth anything made in Taiwan. There may be a burner preference for some brands over others that have nothing to do with disk quality.
I don't think we are bad mouthing Taiwan made disks! It's just that the manufacturer's ID (who made them) is the point, not the place! Please check out this site: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm then get your manufacturers ID from DVDIfo Pro or DVDIdentifier and check that list! Also we are talking about the quality of the disk itself! If they are made as first class disks (what's on the list of First Class in Digital FAQ) then those disks should last 30-100 yrs as said in this web page: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm read about longevity! that's what I'm talking about!
