I agree with LaxNasty Nero 7 is a world leading burning program.
if you are dealing with copy-protection at all then Clone Dvd 2 along with the essential partner Any Dvd are pretty great.
Nero will not burn copy-protected discs at all and it will tell you.
if you get more into burning the afterdawn guides are essential if you are being told your movies are wrong format - post a thread reply with the format and someone can guide you.
for example if the format is DivX you might need a little software to convert that format for proper dvd play.
movies come in all sorts of formats and file types.
it is not hard to convert them for play in a standard-dvd-player
    cheers

I have been using Power producer 3..Is this good or bad? I burnt perhaps 12 movies without a problem and now I have tried a few new releases and it just won't let me

    @Annch
not sure what you mean with the password question but many afterdawn members would recommend investing in Clone + Any Dvd for the latest releases you can even download a 21-day free trial and test them for yourself (tiny files even on dial-up less than 2-3 mb)
if you need more help post back
    cheers
the SlySoft official website can be found with a google search.
    Clone Dvd 2
Any Dvd (this runs in the background to break protection)

If you are new at backing up movies, use the search feature and look
at RipIt4Me. It uses a combination of 4 free programs-DVD Decrypter,
FixVTS, Shrink, and Imgburn. There are some really great guides for
using it in the guides section.
This is probably the easiest way for a newbie to backup up movies.
You can then decide if you want to purchase some other available
    programs.
