i see thanks. Im going to go buy some verbatim advanced azo's tonight and use clonedvd to burn. Can i post some screenshots of nero speedcd/dvd drives results with these burns on here and can you help me determine if they are good burns? Also is cd/dvdspeed easy to set up to test a disc?
I'll burn 8x-12x on any of my benq burners and MCC004 media-currently 3 benqs, and a fourth on its way to my pad. These drives will fly! On my Khypermedia +8x/HP 640c/or I/O Magic 16x Empa drive, no way in hell until I scanned them after a few test burns. I'd do 4x on those drives, but they are so inferior to benq,I don't even burn with them anymore, LOL. The backups off that HP drive is so crappy, that I can't even get good results at 4x speed. These burners do play their own backups perfectly. After that, piss poor stand alone compatability! Even using taiyo yuden media.
I don't see many TSST drive postings around here. That may be a good thing, LOL You gotta scan them like this: Burned at 4x, using the benq 1640: Burned at 8x,using the benq 1640: 8x-12x scans look sweet using my 1640 onto MCC-004 media, but look how the Ty-g02s look.Just the opposite. Still ok scans, but not even close to my MCC-004 12x scans.
hmm i see. So i guess the lower the green purple and yellow then the better? and the red is the speed at which the cd was burned? When i download this dvdinfopro. is it just insert the dvd then click on scan?
Insert the backup into the drive that produced that backup. Open up dvdinfopro Look on lower/left corner and set your dvd-rw drive Click PI/PO disc icon on the top/center Set the scan for 4x Click test I go by the Yellow spikes, and the PIF total. Most scans have a rating, but mine doesn't. I just go with the lower pif totals. When that scan hits one of those huge yellow spikes, the PIF total really starts to roll up. 427 at 4x and 4632 at 8x,so the 4x definitely look better. Both scans are ok and should be no issues upon playback, but I still like to keep those little errors down to a minimum. Here's one of my verbatim MCC-004 scans, that was burned at 12x: 72 total pifs, which is almost perfect when it comes to dvd scans.
here goes my benchmark and disc quality for a memorex 16x disc.the movie was matrix revolutions burnt at 8x with clonedvd3... Can someone explained to me what a benchmark and disc quality is and what i should look for in these two tab? heyyy how did you get that picture in there like you copieed it when it was on your desktop saugmon??
I'm not able to use nerospeed test.Everything is grayed out,and what isn't grayed out, says I need a cd-r backup to test.I've never seen a pic of that benchmark test screen. I think when I took that pic,I hit just the printscreen key. That takes a pic of everything on the pc screen. I now click alt and printscreen at the same time, just to get the main window that I want. Congrats on posting that pic!
hha thankis saugmon. so do you even know what a benchmark test is? And fo the disc quality. Can you show me what i should be looking for onthere
ok i hit alt print screen to apture that pic. but in the reply message text box i hit control v and right click and hit paste and it wont paste the picture in
I'm not familiar with that benchmark test. I did see a spike at the 3.0 gb mark that didn't look very good. Not sure exactly what is is. I'm not sure of what you mean by control v rightclick? You copy the url addresses that contain your pic from hosting sites. Then paste it into your reply. Then add the brackets [*img]hostsiteofpic.com[*img],but omitting the 2 asterisks-**- I put in there.
saugmon - I think he was trying to paste the image into his reply. Which can't be done. You have to save the image online then paste the url inside the IMG quotes as you suggested.
@mikej3131 When you quote saugmon I believe what saugmon is talking about is using the Paint program found in windows to do a screen capture of the active window rather than the whole screen. If you want to find out how you can do that too, go to this thread where alkohol and i are showing how to do it. (thats a thread where i learned a few things too) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/259299
@mike3131: Yes (bad), your PIE are almost 4,000,000 and your PIF are over 11,000. You want something more in the range of the pic I posted on the first page of this thread. I've read that the goal to shoot for would be under 10,000 for PIE and under 200 for PIF. You won't always get that, but that's a good goal to shoot for. You can't paste a image in the reply box. You'll have to do as Maxburn suggested: As to your benchmark test, I believe that looks good from what I've seen on other forums. But I know very little about them. I believe what you want from that scan is to see a nice steady line, one that doesn't jerk up and down. But I could be wrong.
Ok i just read that link you sent me about the paint program. So there is no way possible to just print screen then past a pic in the reply field or add an attachment to my reply. I have to put my pic in a url like photobucket and paste my urls? Oh yeah and i have some more test results comin. Just got my verbatims and burned matrix revolutions at 8x. will post tomorow for some input from you guys on wether it is a good burn or not if you want. it Looks alot better than my memorex burn haha.
here goes my new burn with a verbatim dvd-r 16x burned at 4x with clonedvd. The more critque's & opinion's on the burn the better. Im all ears for some good or bad comments. Also what does that scandisk do? In the disc info picture, does it look like i have real verbatims? Now for the disc quality, what is most important to be low(the max, the total, or the average?)
