    Bryston is right, unless you can find a good used one on Craig's List.

    ok between these choices what would you guys pick

    Onkyo TX-SR506

    Denon AVR-1908

    Yamaha RX-V661


    What would you guys rank those in order from best to worst?

    All three companies make great receivers. Can't go wrong with any of them. Since none of them decode the new HD audio from blu ray movies, I'd say just get any one of them. Denon's tend to run a little higher in cost, for the same features. If you step up to the Yammie 663 or the Onkyo 606, they will decode the HD audio over HDMI, and will be more future proof.

    went with the denon and the JBL SCS500 5.1 speakers, they sound awsome together! the floor rattles!
