I'm posting this in both boards because it's what I'm looking for.

I currently have a generic rca pvr (discontinued I think DRC8000 or whatever) it's fine for the pvr but has serious issues with some dvd's. It's extreamly sensitive and backups of dvd's can have graphical problems with them (digital effects of bars, lines etc) I use That Tiyo Uden (you know the one) and it's great for other dvd players but not this one.

I'd like to be able to burn to dvd's as well so a combo one would be great. It doesn't have to be tivo as I am used to manual recordings with some a/v cables and use my cable box's vcr timer...

I see a few ones I've seen vary quite a bit on price and make. So far I've heard of Toshiba RS-TX20 for around $400 Then there's the Panasonic DMR-EH50 for about $390...any idea how these compair?

    Thanks
