I certainly did not want to be rude, and if you thought I was, I am sorry. I was making a joke, so I thought. Oh, and I can be rude, but I wasn't trying in that post.
No I really wasn't calling you rude haha! I was calling myself rude! Well, myself circa '08 I'm really sorry if you thought I was accusing you <3
No need to be sorry. If I was rude to someone, they damn well deserved it. You didn't deserve it, so I was concerned, because I thought that you thought I was being rude. I made a bad attempt at being funny. That is the problem with posts on the internet. There is no tone inflection with posts, so they can be taken different ways.
no such thing a a bad attempt to be funny.it all come down to timing.lol.not as old school as some on here but getting there.lol
Damn you're all a rude bunch! Fortunately I will take you all back to a more congenially time when politeness reined. And if you disagree, then kiss OFF!
Damn, that got pretty crappy for a while. I joined August 2004, took a break for a period and came back to a similarly great resource.
I've been way too busy. Got married, working at the same job for the last 27 years, and fish for saugeye. I haven't kept up with the times because I still have slow dsl, windows 7, and a flip phone, LOL!
Haha, enjoying some of that summer sun and eating lots of barbecued food. How have you been, are you missing the famed 'b' button?! It's good to see that a few old heads still post around here. I used to check the forums almost hourly when I first joined up!
Ahh fair enough. Still breaking the newish-look site in. Speaking of 'old school', that previous configuration will always have a special place in my heart...
Lethal It's been a while since we've collided. It's good to see that you're still here, and that ddp, still has something more than retirement to look forward to. Now if we can just get praetor to drop in, then anything is possible.
And likewise to you, sir! Do you keep in contact with brobear these days? I shall endeavor to follow this thread regularly and hopefully spot many of the oldies as and when they make their fleeting visits. Praetor stopped posting precisely 40 days before I joined. I guess that's what you call a real old-schooler! He was a very knowledgeable guy whose posts I learned a boatload from, though. He logged in a couple of years ago even though he hasn't posted since 2005, so you never know -- he may just surprise us with an appearance! Here's a funny little throwback! Would love to see the likes of Neph, A_Klingon (allegedly a mod), kivory666 (docTY), Auslander, creaky, fasfrank.... I'm going through the member list and there are dozens I could name. Even the miserable gits over at aDbuddies like herbsman and hursty! Times change, of course. We all have our lives to lead and with modern means of communication, there's unfortunately less incentive to stop by here. Even I've been guilty of forgetting about this place for years at a time.
No, brobear and I had a falling out some years ago. Praetor became involved with another site "computer forum," and that's where he seems to have ended his online activities with the Praetor moniker. He pulled me into it a for a while, and we even communicated by email a couple of times. My best guess is that life caught up with him and he put his "dumpster diving" days behind him. An interesting link to the past, and with darthnip making an occasional show. I enjoyed the discussions that Praetor I had over the, dare I say it, years. Neph and I also once had a collegial relationship, but like a lot of online friends, things seem to work just fine until we burst the fantasy and identify our political leanings. That was the beauty of those times, we could all unshackle ourselves from our daily ideologies, and exchange ideas without prejudice. I too, would enjoy encountering Nef and A_Klingon again, along with countless others. "Times change, of course. We all have our lives to lead and with modern means of communication, there's unfortunately less incentive to stop by here. Even I've been guilty of forgetting about this place for years at a time. " I knew some years ago, that social media was leaning toward Facebook, and that forums would eventually begin to fade. I personally still prefer the forum format because Facebook is a "free for all" environment and not a good place to seek information about anything but how your family and old friends are doing. Times have changed, but then we knew they would years ago, but if you and I are here, then it's possible that Praetor and Neph will also drop by, if the can.
