One of those days, eh Brandon? We all have them, buddy!

I'll post up a shot of my "digs" once I have upgraded to the 30" LCD I am soon comandeering from the lounge. At the moment, i'd feel too inadequate posting next to the might of your setups!

Come on guys, it's been a while since we've seen a good picture in this thread! :)

yeah that does sound the same model as my TV, i knew it was 1366 x something. we don't get HD transmissions here yet but apparently HD basically means the picture will be 4 times better i think.

as i'm in UK mine has 'freeview' digital tuner (30ish free channels) built-in. my aerial is only temporary though so the TV isn't at it's best anyway, but i also got 2 DVD players hooked up to it, 1 of them being a HD player with a proper DVI or whatever-it's-called lead. also got PS2, Gamecube, DVD Recorder (with it's own freeview tuner built-in) hooked up to it, it's like spaghetti city behind that thing. To top it off i have my Dreamcast, PS1 and Super Famicom hooked into my portable tv next to the big tv, partly because i ran out of sockets and partly as i wanted the kids to be able to play on different games at same time.

My laptop or other 2 PC's are rarely connected to the big TV, and haven't really got around to surfing on the big tv yet, other than testing it a little when i bought it

@Jaskaran - it is gathering dust at the moment as i'm always doing other stuff. i do have a load of games for it, awesome console/games but the main controller port is buggered and not all games work without port 1. in fact i think i'll dust it off tonight. will have to buy another Dreamcast, they're only about £20 from www.cex.co.uk

I have to say that my all time fav dreamcast game was phantasy star online. And using the action replay made it oh so much sweeter...being able to mod weapons/stats, mess with the people who usually messed with other people, even pumping up another persons stats so that they were almost a god in the game. ah, those were the days. /me sobs

The quality of the picture can be affected to some degree by the type of connection that you use. Many feel that an S-Video connection will give a better picture than the standard red/white/yellow RCA hookup.

The number of hookups really depends on the make/model TV. Mine has composite, component, RGB, DVI, S-Video and various audio in/outs.

my posh dvd player is hooked up via the DVI cable and my normal DVD player is hooked up via a £1 scart cable. i had even (against my better judgement (and financial sense)) tried a £60 scart cable for a laugh, it was a huge fat thing, but it did no better than the £1 one so it went back to the shop.

i used to be primarily a -R man but now i use both equally i guess.

just added another PC to the "where i'm sat" arsenal. a Mandriva Linux box, but no-one get too excited, i don't rate Linux too highly, it's mainly for playing Frozen Bubble on the LCD TV as a cheapy media-PC sort of PC
