Wasn't a scam. The XPS came with warranty. I opened a service call and worked through all of the on-line diagnosis (time consuming, a couple hours total over two calls). They were going to have the mother-board replaced and I suggested a system RMA at which they immediately said "that was not an option" at which I said "that is a shame, but ok I just want it fixed" - then the rep puts me on hold for a few minutes and when he comes back he say's "okay you got it, we will RMA the system". I said "that sounds great if it is a new system, not referbished", and he says "new system". And it was.

    about that land..... :)

There is also two house speakers and four satellite speakers hooked up to bump during movies. You can hear the sound for about 75 yards outside of the house!

I do not play my computer loud enough for them to care. The drums is what they call the law on. My neighbor is so bad I dedicated a website to them.

a similar little mishap happened to my boss on a canoe trip. Well, it was actually a rafting trip we had down the American River. Much fun with beer and water guns. My boss put his wallet and pager and keys and such into a plastic bag thinking it was protected.... Wrong. They say rubbers are good protection ---->??? :)

anyway.... the raft toppled, the plastic bag got dunked, the pager as well the other contents drenched. My bosses pager was broken - I took it back with me that eveing to my hotel room; took it apart; blotted it dry best I could; dried it off the rest of the way with a hair blow dryer; it took a long time. VIOLA. And boy was my boss happy! BEEP BEEP BEEP :)
