The few cnet reviews are not enough to make me an intelligent buyer when shopping for a new HDTV.

ALso, Can anybody recommend the best HDTV out there for $2000 max. I would prefer larger than 27" and picture quality over picture size. Any help much appreciated.

For under 2,000 you probably want to go with a HD-CRT tv. I recommend the Samsung 30" slimfit with built-in digital tuner or the Sony 34" with built-in digital tuner. You can find just about any size CRT for less than 2,000 bucks. They go up to 65".

As far as reviews, have you ever tried checking out one of many tv mags?

I have been very happy with my subscription to Sound and Vision mag.
