Joey, you are quite welcome. Even though afterdawn can have its share of jerks we are a help site and most of us are devoted to help those, who like you, have questions.

I'm glad you were always able to find an answer to your questions. God knows, I've helped alot of people and answered alot of questions.

If you can't find an answer feel free to ask any question. You will never sound stupid.

LOL Now I can't guarantee anything like that, but there are a lot of people willing to help when they can. Because questions are beginner level doesn't make them stupid.

    Good afternoon to all.

Had to post this, one of my favorite jokes. Please don't take offense, it's a joke.........LMAO
    >>>
    >>>
    >>>
A man walked into a very high-tech restaurant in a fancy hotel.

As he waited to be seated, he noticed that the Maitre D' was a robot.

The robot clicked to attention and said, "Sir, there is a one hour wait.
And I am programmed to converse with you until a table is ready, If you
    please."

    Intrigued, the man said, "OK."

The robot clicked a couple more times and then asked, "Sir, what is your IQ?"

The man answered, "Oh, about 164."

The robot then proceeded to discuss the theory of relativity, Interstellar
space travel, the latest medical breakthroughs, etc . .

The man was most impressed. The next day he returned, But thought he would
    try a different tack.

The robot again asked, "What is your IQ, sir?" This time the man answered, "Oh, about 100".

So the robot started discussing NASCAR racing, the latest basketball
Scores, and what to expect the Red Sox to do this weekend.

The guy had to try it one more time. So the next day he returned.

Again the robot asked the question, "What is your IQ?"

This time the man drawled out, " Uh.....'bout 50."

The robot clicked, then leaned close and very slowly asked,

    "A-r-e .. y-o-u .. p-e-o-p-l-e .. g-o-i-n-g .. t-o .. n-o-m-i-n-a-t-e .. H-i-l-l-a-r-y?

edit: punch line ran together had to space it out........lol

    LOL!!!!!

It's snowing here-finally! It's the warmest winter that we central ohions have seen-ever. It's been so warm, the local ski resort can't even make their own snow.

Only 1/2 inch of snow for the season.

    No global warming ey?

More like a global shift than warming. You'd be hard pressed to prove global warming by the folks in the normally sunny southern California. They're a freezin their bezeebers off. ;)

When I was a kid, we had ice storms every winter.
We've not had one for about 30 yrs. now. Not saying I want one.......... it's just an observation. We hardly ever even get any snow. I live in eastern NC (North Carolina, USA, for those in other countries).

Winters are warmer now, and summers are hotter. Sure, we would have some 90-95 degree days back then, but they didn't stay that hot for a couple of weeks at a time (or more), like they do now.

I'm not really complaining though. I hate cold weather! You can wipe the sweat off! You can't wipe off the cold........... I also don't like having to put so many layers of clothes on, that I can hardly move, just to be comfortably warm.

Donuts! YAY! *grabs his camel pack and fills with ice-cold milk*

    Sweet! Custard filling!

*dives in and consumes obscene amounts of pastries until he is too bloated to effectively roll to the next box*

    URGH!

*throws up and instantly returns to normal size*

    Ahh! That's better!

You really found my sweet spot. I LOVE pastries of all kinds :)

My dad told me back in the 1950s and 60s he remembers wearing a short sleeved shirt at Christmas time on some years. He also told me there was years the snow was up to his crack. He said he was shorter back then. LOL Sounded like some of the winters may have been worse. He grew up in the mountains of Central Appalachia, not too far from your location. Seems there's warm years and cold years. Some areas seem to be getting warmer and others colder. Since the 1860s theres only been about a 0.3 to 0.6C temperature increase and measuring has improved over the past few decades. So, there's an error factor. In biblical times the Sahara was a garden area where there's nothing but desert now. That was a severe climate shift during recorded history. I'm not saying there isn't some warming, but I don't see it as being as drastic as some make out. Not too many years ago our imminent scientists were talking about global cooling. I think the folks in CA might agree with the cooling theory. LOL
Here's a short read on warming and cooling trends.

I'm from cali...and yes it's cold right now...however we just had the hottest summer in recorded history...devasted livestock...went to the warped show in fresno...119 degrees on the black top...watched the guys at FOH shoting thermal gun into crowd...127 degrees...it sucked...27 dead in modesto alone due to heat wave...lasted over 2 weeks...

As for Global warming...I don't believe it...Humans are just a pimpel on the face of the Earth...just my 2 cents...

    Snow!!!!!!!!

OMG do we ever have snow. I live in a remote, totally off grid area of Oregon, USA way up in the mountains. We have so much snow that sometimes we are the only LOCAL's out in it!

But we're transplants from the city and still think a few feet of snow is big fun, we have snowboards, we have sleds, we have a WELDER???.

We took an old hood from the Plymouth that we're digging out of the hillside for it's final destination at the recycyler's (why do so many rural-ites think it is ok to bury or half bury old cars!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrr)

ANYHOW!!!!! We welded the old backseat to the hood hooked it to the tractor and away we went. All five people in our valley got a ride and the cougars, elk and bear were laughing their asses off to be sure.

Everyone here in podukaville thinks we're NUTS! Even though they wanted a ride on the thing.

    Viva NUTS

I hope this finds you all having great winter fun and no computer worries.

    Good evening to all.........

Here's a couple of papers to read for the Global Warming people...

    http://www.leaderu.com/orgs/probe/docs/globwarm.html

    http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/sun_output_030320.html

I had a great 30 page research paper that talked about cyclic changes in the weather patterns but lost it with the move to the new computer. lol. I'm not presenting this to piss people off just to inform you of the other possibilities out there. I've read a handful of the Global Warming papers and they pretty much all say the same thing. Take a little time and peruse these. lol. Happy reading and have a great weekend.

    .........c

    edit: for spelling.......bad typing really...lol

Gas emissions into the atmosphere are what eveyone says is causing ozone depletion and global warming. So man needs to eat all the cows and leave the planet before they digest. LOL Ban the beans. LOL

    Goodnight........
    @cincyrob,
Tomorrow, go to Skyline Clili, and eat a huge plate for me, with everything on it. That's five things, right?
I loved that place, and haven't eaten any since 1969! White Castle was nice too. Wish we had one here.)
