where do i put multimeter ??

where do i put the mulitimeter to test can u show me in a diagram format please i am not thick .......... really just showing different readings all the time ?? please advise a s a p thanks

i like to keep mine on the bench where it's easily visible, the leads locations on the other hand are as chunkhead mentioned variant on what you want to measure with the DVM.
