try google search for 'firmware for Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-104
or www.rpc1.org for a hacked firmware. Either one, read and follow the instructions or you can stuff your drive

Firmware is basically a set of instructions for your drive telling it how to handle different discs.
the official firmware page from Pioneer....
    http://wwwbsc.pioneer.co.jp/product-e/ibs/device_e/dev00001r_e.html#firmware1

But before updating, be sure that you know what your current version is.... go to the following site at the bottom of the page wher it says "what's my firmware?"
    http://flashman.rpc-1.com/

If your current firmware version is lower than the one available then go ahead and update.
