Which drive would you buy? LG, Lite-On, Sony NEC, or Samsung?

    I ordered a Plextor PX-810UF last week. From what I've seen it's really a LG GSA-H44N with Plextor written all over it, but in my old desktop PC, I had a LG GSA-4163B and it never did me wrong, so I should be happy. Plus 18x is pretty sweet, haha.

    Considering that you can't get any discs rated any faster than 16x right now, and the fact that you really shouldn't burn DVDs any faster than 8x . . . 18x really isn't any more than a number thrown out there to impress consumers . . .

    Well, I bought the Liteon LH-20A1H and so far so good. Yes, it's a little loud at high speeds but I burn DVD media at 8x max and it's very quiet at that speed.

    The Lightscribe is cool too!
