http://www.newegg.com/app/view...=27-182-023&DEPA=0 Optorite 8X DVD+RW/-RW Drive Model DD0405, Retail OR http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=27-154-009&depa=0 NU Technology Black 8X DVD+RW/-RW Drive, Model DDW-082 BLK -OEM I'm not looking to spend more than $50 for one of these, so if you have one cheaper and its better.. let me know... thanks in advance. P.S: I heard Optorite isn't very good; is this true? Basically what I want to do is be able to burn CD's and also burn movies. preferably .mpeg's and .avi's.
I have a suggestion spend the extra $10 and get this one http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=27-106-960&depa=0 Or you can get one of the other 2 and we will be seeing you a lot on here if you know what I mean ;-) Plus this is a Dual layer drive so you will be good to go if you decide to go that way later on down the line. I can not in good concious reccomend either of the drives you have choosen. If you are on a strick budget and can't go the exra $10 well in the long run you will end up spending more you, will go threw more disks (coasters) or end up having to buy another drive anyway. Now if you just want something that is going to last for a couple of months and need some new coasters around the house then buy the cheapest one possible..
