I am trying to setup my own Home Theatre, and I would like to have some feedback on what kind or gauge of speaker wires I need to buy. The direct distance between the Amp and the rear speakers is 20 feet, but by the time I actually take the wire thru the walls and so forth it will become about 30 feet. Any ideas or suggestions?

whats also just as important as the distance is the wattage pushing through that wires...thats really more critical. if you have an amp thats only putting out ~50 watts per channel, then running 16 or 18 gauge up to 50 feet will be just as efficient as a higher gauge. however if you're pumping massive voltage through it, like over 200 watts, then you want 12 gauge or higher.
