    Hey Gang,
Built my present system 3 1/2 years ago [AMD Athlon[m] 64 x2 dual core 3800+ 2.01 - MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum mobo. I have done quite a few home video to DVD projects and I'm finding as time and projects go by the rendering and encoding times are getting increasingly longer [almost 2 hrs. for a 1 hour video] I've decided to purchase a new cpu and mobo and it's the cpu I need some advice about. Money is tight, so I have to do this on a small budget. I've narrowed the processor down to 2 choices, both Intel, #1 - Core2 Duo E7400 2.8MHz
    1066 FSB 3mb. cache, price $140.00 CDN. #2 - Core2 Duo E8200 2.66MHz 1333FSB 6mb. cache, 150.00 CDN.
With only 10 dollars between the two, both are affordable, however, faster rendering and encoding is what matters to me at this point. Any advice and input you can offer would be appreciated. Thankyou
    Joe

The E7400 is a better deal, go with that. Remember you need a new motherboard and RAM too!
