I have the choice of the pioneer 108 OR plextor 716a drive. I need to pick between one of these two drives. Which would you choose between these two and why? Thanks for the input.

I am partial to Plextor drives, due to the history of the many that I have had. They have been reliable for me, and are known as being reliable drives by others.

Others will prefer the Pioneer, because of the same reasons. Either way, you can't go wrong.

I have two plextors on my computer (DVD) (708a and 716a). It's hard to beat them.

I have the Plextor 716-A. It is a fast drive and the quality is excellent. Def. recommend it! I had a Sony 8x dvdrw drive last year and it never worked properly. (I won't buy Sony anymore -too many issues with quality)
