Hello, I am going to buy my first dvd burner. Just want to ask which brand and model is good. I can't make up my mind. I have read a lot of review, they have different results. like say pioneer A108 model cannot backup protected disk....etc but on the other hand the LG 12x model can without problem. So which one is good?
I have an old 4x liteon but I have seen a couple of the guys around here saying they like the Pioneer.
What do you mean by backing up protected discs? PC games? I've never heard of LG DVD/RW's being able to back up PC games. Very few DVD burners can. The only ones that can are the Plextor PX-708A/712A and the Lite On 4xx/8xx series. Any DVD/RW or DVD-ROM can back up protected DVDs. In any case I'd recommend steering well clear of LG drives. I've helped an inordinate amount of people trying to get their LG's work.
