    My own personal chioce would be the Pioneer mate, I have the 107 the one down from the one your listing and it's very good.

    Hi Jeanc1. I think that link just tells you what the drives can do, but is not much of a guide to reliability. From my experience the NEC previous models have been dogged with problems as could be seen from the number of threads here. Of course that doesn't mean to say that the current model is bad. However this site has very few previous threads on problems associated with any Pioneer models. Personally I've never had any problems whatever with the two Pioneer burners I've had. I could just be lucky but if so I'm not the only one.

    @Discmania

    Look at my post -- it's gone ! It was not there to start arguments or trashing on Pioneer's users.

    Those were 5 good drives recognized by an organisation .

    My post does not infer that you were trying to trash Pioneer. I was only stating what I know from previous threads. Sorry if I upset you.

    I've had the 106 Pioneer since early this year and haven't had any issues with it. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another when the day comes, and I recommend them to everyone.
