Out of these two, which is better. Tell me if you need more specs on them such as the processor number.

    Celeron D 2.93 GHz, 256K cache, 533 MHz BUS
    Pentium 4 2.53 GHz, 256K cache, 533 MHz BUS

From my understanding the The Pentium 4 will be better than the celeron - as the celeron is the budget Intel processor and is generally slower.

That what I thought but by the detailed specs of the processor, they are both the same except that the celeron has the higher clock speed.

I spose its like the PentiumD v C2D - my CPU is a Pentium D 2 x 3Ghz Processor and Id gladly swap it for any C2D chip out there.

The P4 has better architecture than the Cleron, so even with a lower clock speed the P4 will be faster.

That's why people with Pentium Ds will swap for a C2D, even though they are both duel cores. The architecture on the Core 2 Duo is far superior and therefore it is faster.

Yea but don't the Core 2's have a higher BUS speed and aren't they 65nm compared to the Pentium D's 90nm? with the P4 and Celeron D, they are both 533 BUS and both 90nm. Which of these would be better in overclocking?
