Can someone please tell me what dpms stands for? The monitor is excellent for hd...no complaints at all..except....there is no user manual to speak of just how to hook it up no explainations of what things do....saturation is another unexplained thing...I know it has to do with color but.....Thanx

    Hello! DPMS stands for
Display Power Management Signaling" ... it's an energy conservation thing like the different settings on your computer monitor ..on...standby...hybernate...off. AVRs are often ON...Standby ....or OFF. See <http://webpages.charter.net/dperr/dpms.htm#> What is the model of the TV? You can usually find a manual online.

Saturation deals with the amount of grey in a particular color. Imagine a series color photographs slowing becoming black and white until the photo is completely black and white (a black and white photo is not really black and white but varing shades of grey). See the following <http://pomona.edu/Academics/courserelated/classprojects/Visual-lit/saturation/Saturation.HTML#> for a better explanation and examples....Gerry
