I saw the '77 version about twenty years ago so technically I've seen it but in truth I remember so little of the original that I couldn't make any real comparison. The '77 version is in my netfix queue :)

One thing i find about watching originals, is that the inevitable loss of effects kinda drags the film down. A brilliant plot makes this not matter, but u rarely get them

personally few things make my stomach turn, the new movie i felt was not good as it should be,

the hills have eyes, had a dual rape scene that made me uncomfy "mainly coz that sort of thing" along with scenes from movies like "once where warriors" showing husband beating his wife to a pulp

is the sort of scene that i find depressing

maybe im getting old, or maybe i was expecting to sit on my ass and get brain damaged by a horror movie, not made to feel like vomiting blood

the last good movie in the horror genre i watched was the amityville horror

    "the remake"

and previous to that "white noise" was not bad, i felt movies such as silent hill based on video games are a bit lacking

See theres where we differ aramisk.

I dont have the physchological strenght to withstand the "brain damaging" type horror movies, im just not cut out for them. (wuss...yup) Lol. I do agree that the amytiville horror was good though, did its job, i didnt open my wardrobe for weeks so i didnt meet that girl. Lol.

I do agree though, that rape seen sent a chill down my sign. I hate them kinda thingzz........

I'm with you guys about the rape scenes - I can't stand them and don't want to see them. I can watch all kinds of beatings, stabbings and shootings because I know it's just a movie but rape is too vile an act even in a movie.

see the thing is when you get to a certain age, ur bound to know someone close to home "friend, familly, x g/f" etc who has been raped so you automatically get very uncomfortable

but the one in the new version of the hills have eyes

is a bit extreme, if theres a scene in a movie thats violante etc its suppost to enhance the plot

in my opinion the rape scene did not

Well i barely started watching those movies considering im 14 i probably shouldnt have watched it anyways, but i think that the rape scene was worst then any part of the movie (unrated) even all the pickaxes going through heads and lying in a box full of body parts. For some reason im not sure if there is something wrong with my brain but i couldnt help but let out a chuckle when that guy came out with a dog leg in his mouth that was pretty ridiculous ha.
