Why are my avi's displayed better in WMP 11 than in WMP classic?

I play the same avi in Windows Media Player 11 (WMP) and WMP classic and the colors, contrast, saturation look much better in 11 than in classic. I have them side by side so the difference is noticeable. Is there a way to have the same color enhancements in classic?

Also does WMP classic have "fit video to player" when I play a video with it?

    Thanks.

classic uses a lot less memory and precious system strength, so there is a loss when playing video and such, what codec pack/stand alone are you using to view those AVI's with?
sometimes they wont register quite right with WMPC unless its using the latest version

you should uninstall the codecs then reinstall them after you've updated WMPC
