    hi all

i use winavi to encode my avi files to mpeg2. i use this feature when i'm having trouble encoding them to svcd. i thought that svcd and mpeg2 were supposed to be the same, so how come nero still reencodes them prior to burning it onto cd?

the troubles with winavi in which i was referring to is that soemtimes after encoding 99% it just hangs. so far i've never had that trouble when encoding to mpeg2.

hoping to hear from you all and thanks!

Well It could be because your Mpeg-2 files are not SVCD compliant...

You have to encode to Mpeg-2 useing 480+480/576-Pal resolution and with an audio frequency of 44100hz and if you don"t use these settings Nero will re-encode the Files...The Files also must have a SVCD Header....
