Kind of, but it is so annoying to see a post asking "how do I" stuck right under a stickied guide which explains exactly "how to"
I agree it's a tad annoying. However, do we have any real way of knowing how many nOObs have read those stickies/guides and answered their own question as opposed to posting a silly one?
I'm getting that feeling more and more as time goes by. Seems I see more and more posts like those now these days. Some days, I just want to slap a few of them on the back of their heads and tell them to wake up!!
But if all the newbies read all the guides and stickies, we'd all have very little questions to answer wouldn't we, and there would be less members. I assume that's how AD makes money, by amount of members, or amount of posts. If the site wasn't so active, the advertisers would be less interested.
Oh, you just hit the nail right on the head. A perfect summary of what AfterDawn has become; pointless amounts of same-old questions, being answered over and over by the same few decent members. Repeat this step on a daily basis like we do, it generates a lot of traffic, and more money for the Admins!
