why pc display not good using hdmi ?

    hi,any help would be appreciated.bought an hdmi dvi cable for pc display on 32" sony lcd.(graphics card:ati radeon hd 3800 series).but display(overall picture/text kinda blurry) is not as good as my vga dvi connection.
    why is this?shouldnt hdmi be better?

    same here on my 37 vizio 9600gt nvidia

    idk why it just sucks plus mine cutts off a section of the screen

    what i waste of 15 bucks huh?

    Have you set it to the native resolution of the display?

    There should really be no reason why it shouldn't look the same doesn't make sense.

    Do you think the cable is downgrading the resolution?

    Apparently it's an anti piracy feature of HDMI to downgrade the resolution.

    hi mack786, yeah i have tried all of the resolutions and various settings within the graphics card but no differance.this downgrading of resolution that you mention sounds like it could be whats happening.havent heard of this before.the display with hdmi is clearly not as good as vga.the picture is very differant between the 2 connections.with hdmi there is more colour ,but text is blurry compared to vga, and photos dont look as clear/detailed.overall display is not of a high standard.
