I cant get out of pio mode by rebooting, I used system
restore to return to a past date and now I am in mode
2 , is this the fastest mode? And how come a reboot
after uninstalling the driver for that dvd drive doesnt put me back in ultra DMA mode? I have windows
xp and it wont restore the mode.Any answers or help
would be greatly appreciated, thanks rick

Has DMA defaulted to off in your BIOS? This could be your problem.
